棲鳳林位于北門商業街對面，是一片保存完好的原始生態林。其形態從空中俯瞰如展翅飛翔的鳳凰。鳳，是中華文明標志性圖騰之一，也是楚文化的主要象征，楚人尚鳳。湖北經濟學院校徽“騰飛的經院”也如一只展翅飛翔的鳳凰，寓意經院騰龍棲鳳，培育良才。校徽與鳳文化相呼應，增添了校園的自然美感和文化內涵。
Facing the North Gate Commercial Street, Qifeng (meaning phoenix resting) Forest is a well-preserved area of original ecology. Viewed from above, the trees resemble a phoenix in flight, symbolizing the spirit of soaring ambitions and dreams, while echoing the school's emblem and cultural heritage.
